Nourishing Our Future: TowneBank Partners with CFBOC to Support Chesterfield Students
The Chesterfield Food Bank Outreach Center was thrilled to announce a powerful partnership aimed at fighting food insecurity right where it matters most: in our schools. TowneBank officially signed on as the proud sponsor of the Chesterfield School Pantry Program, bringing essential resources directly to students across the county.
With more than 40% of students in Chesterfield County Public Schools eligible for the free or reduced lunch program, the need for CFBOC's Kids Program initiatives has never been greater. Hunger doesn't disappear at the school doors, and a lack of basic necessities can severely compromise a student's ability to succeed.
The School Pantry Program is our way of meeting students exactly where they are. We've set up no-cost food and personal care pantries inside select schools across the county. Designed with dignity and accessibility in mind, these pantries are completely barrier-free—meaning there is no registration or proof of need required. Students can get immediate support to meet their basic needs right at school, allowing them to put their focus back on their education.
A Growing Impact: 26 Schools and Counting
The need for accessible food assistance is real, but so is our community's incredible response. Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of TowneBank, the School Pantry Program is currently supporting students in 26 schools across Chesterfield County.
This extensive reach means thousands of local children now have a reliable, judgment-free place to grab a snack during the day, take home a meal for the weekend, or pick up essential personal hygiene items.
A Beautiful Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
To celebrate this incredible partnership, we hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 22nd. We were absolutely thrilled by the great turnout from the community! Seeing everyone come together to support this cause was a beautiful reminder of the wonderful impact this program is already having on our children.
